Hey there,

My name is Isabelle Martens, and I'm so glad you've found your way to my little corner of the world.

I've had a lot of goals in my life, but my biggest dream has always been to write.

​

Books carried me through some of the best and hardest seasons, and I still remember scribbling Percy Jackson knockoffs in middle school. Even back then, I realized how cathartic writing could be; not just an escape, but an adventure. Creating characters, building worlds, and weaving stories quickly became a joy I never wanted to put down.

​

In spring of 2024, I finally sat down to write what would become my debut novel, Skating the Line. While I've got years' worth of stories tucked away in old documents, this was the first book I felt truly called to bring into the world.

​

As an author, my goal is simple: to write stories that move people the way so many books once moved me. If I can make you laugh, cry, or hold your breath in anticipation, then my job is done. It's a privilege to share pieces of my imagination with readers, and it's one I don't take for granted.

​

When I'm not finding new ways to complicate my character's lives, you can usually find me playing with my golden retriever, riding horse with my friends, or finding fun projects to tinker on. Seriously, don't tempt me with building IKEA furniture or putting together one of those Book Nook sets—I'll spend an entire weekend doing it! I'm fueled by Dr. Pepper and as someone who listened to over 53,000 minutes of music in 2025, I love to curate the perfect playlists for my stories.
